Jason Searle is in his first year as Head Coach of the Withnell Dodgers, although he is certainly not new to the American Legion Post 136 team.  As a former player from the 1995, 1996, and 1997 summer seasons (then known as Cooke’s Stationary), Searle not only has knowledge of the game, but also an understanding of the tradition of great baseball played by this team.

A graduate of one of the Withnell Dodgers feeder schools, Sprague High School, Searle was a four year Varsity letter winner, a starting Outfielder on the 1995 4A State Championship team, and a two-time All-Valley League Catcher in 1996 and 1997.  After high school he attended Willamette University, where he continued his baseball career on the same field that the Withnell Dodgers call home.  As a four year starter at Catcher for WU, Searle was twice named First Team All-Northwest Conference in 2001 and 2002.

In addition to being an assistant coach for the Dodgers last summer, Searle has previously coached at West Salem High School, Chemeketa Community College, and Sprague High School and is currently an assistant coach at his college alma mater, Willamette University.  He works for the Salem-Keizer School District as a Physical Education teacher at Parrish Middle School.
